The roof is complete, and this makes it look a lot like a house!
This is what you see looking from the road, near the eventual location of the driveway entrance.

Looking from the back of the house, the completed shingles make the roof lines very visible in the afternoon
shadows.

The plumbing subcontractor (Rodney Schubert Plumbing, New Ulm, TX) has begun the rough work.
The air conditioning subcontractor (Malinowski Air Conditioning, Nelsonville, TX) has also been busy.
Most of the duct work for the second floor is complete, as can be see in this photo.
Both the downstairs and upstairs heating and cooling units are installed.

We meet with the electrical subcontractor (Janish Electric Co., Industry, Texas) and walk through the house to
locate plugs, switches, and so forth.
We also meet with Sam Condra (Condra Communications, Columbus, Texas) to discuss wiring for specialty items
such as television, telephone, security, and computer networking.

Here we can see that the north facing gable wall has finally been closed (for the most part).
In fact, it is the first to receive an application of
Hardiplank siding.
In addition, all of the Crestline windows have been
installed.
Unfortunately, the wrong ones were installed into the front dormers and into the master bath, so a few of them
will have to be removed and relocated.

The ceilings under the porches surrounding the House are covered with exterior bead board, eventually to be
painted a sky blue.
The theory is that this color will discourage birds, wasps, and other nest builders from taking up residence.
We will not have to worry about Texas Yellow Jackets.
I am sure that they will remember me from previous encounters.
Partner, the Double Luck just ain't big enough for the both of us!
Neither is Texas.

The windows previously mounted incorrectly in the dormers have been removed and replaced with the correct ones.
The front of the house almost looks complete now that the
Hardiplank siding is installed in
the dormers and box windows.
We are looking forward to getting the finished porch posts installed.
The remaining unfinished wall areas will be covered with rock, and the posts will be skirted with the same rock
material.

The front door opening now has the transom and sidelites in position.
The door is on order, but we will likely have a temporary construction door installed before it arrives.
