This is the list of significant events in the construction of the Double Luck Farm House during November, 2000.

A great deal has been accomplished over the last few weeks, mostly on the house interior. This view of the kitchen wall shows that the plumbing subcontractor (Rodney Schubert Plumbing, New Ulm, TX) has been busy working on the rough plumbing for the sink. The electrical subcontractor (Janish Electric Co., Industry, Texas) has also been pulling a lot of wire!

Upstairs, the guest bathroom is progressing nicely. The tub has been installed, along with the mixing valve and diverter for the shower (barely visible in this view). Other rough plumbing work has been accomplished for the unspeakable (but necessary) fixture.

Wiring for communications and security

In this view of a wall in one of the guest bedrooms, in addition to the normal wiring, we can see that Sam Condra, the digital wiring subcontractor (Condra Communications, Columbus, Texas) has been busy installing TV, telephone, computer, and security wiring.

We are getting close to being finished on the exterior! Here we have a good view of the front of the house, where we can see that the cedar porch posts have been installed. The four shiny wall surfaces under the porch will soon be covered with rock. The six posts across the front of the porch will also be skirted with the same rock treatment, and a cedar cross railing will be built between them.

Rear view

From the back, the cedar porch posts are very visible. The left half of the back porch (where the posts are closer together) will soon be screened in.

Standing near the door from the dining room and looking down that back porch, we see that there is a great view of the Double Luck Station! For the mechanically minded, the far wall of the screened porch has been built to contain the mechanical goodies, such as the refrigerant lines for the outside unit of the air conditioning system.
