Each of the downstairs front windows has a builtin window seat.
The one in the master bedroom, shown here, is static.
The one in the living room is on rollers, and can be removed to make room for a Christmas Tree during the
holidays.

The first sanding and finish coat for the hardwood floors has been completed.
We cannot walk on it until this first finishing coat dries, but the eventual look of the Brazilian Cherry
begins to show.

Upstairs, the same Brazilian Cherry floors are used in the office, studio, and library.

Except for those in the master shower, all of the plumbing fixtures have now been installed, and the water has
been turned on.
Here we see the oiled bronze faucets used in the master bath.

And not all of the activity has been inside.
The masons have begun installing the brown ledge stone onto the surface walls at the front of the house.

A lot of finishing touches are being applied as we approach completion of this project.
When we discovered these cabinet knobs and drawer pulls over a year ago, there was little doubt that they would
be used in the kitchen!

Most of the electrical and light fixtures are installed and working.
This light fixture in the living room near the stairs will hang over a game table where we expect to play
cards, dominoes, and Mah Jongg, and other games.

And work continues on the outside where the stone masons are skirting the porch posts with rock to match the
front walls.
All this one needs is the cap stone.

It is time for appliances to be installed!
We picked up a few new appliances ourselves, including this washer and dryer now installed in the laundry.
We are still living in the Station, but at least now we can have clean clothes.

Unfortunately, we have had some difficulty with the major kitchen appliances.
Not with the appliances themselves, but with the company from which we bought them.
My personal advise to anyone considering such a purchase anywhere within the greater Houston area would be to
avoid Factory Builders like the plague.
I have never before seen a company with so many rude and incompetent people, and that includes the owner.
At least they have delivered some of the appliances, including the stove and refrigerator shown here.
One of these days, they may decide to deliver the rest and complete the installation that we have paid for.
Perhaps they will be more cooperative when American Express begins to pull on their chain?

The rock work for the fireplace is well on its way to completion, as can be seen here.
Originally, we planned to use the same cultured stone as is being used on the outside, but we have changed to
use real stone for the fireplace.
