Work on the exterior is nearly complete.
This view from the front shows that the exterior shutters have been painted with the third exterior color.
The rock walls have been completed, and the only thing that remains for the rock skirting around the porch
columns are the cap stones.
Final grading may have to wait while we dry out from tropical storm Allison.
Fortunately, Bellville is far enough west of Houston that we did not suffer more than some heavy rain.

The back splash has been installed around the kitchen counters.
This view shows that the back splash pattern has been continued onto the wall behind the stove.
The stove and other major appliances still have not been installed, but at least, all appliances have now been
delivered.

The screened porch in the back is really taking shape!
The screens are framed in cedar and mounted between cedar posts.
All but one of the panels have been installed (the remaining one was the wrong size and is being reworked).
The screen doors have been primed and will soon be painted in a combination of the three exterior colors.

A lot of progress has been made on the appliance front.
Here we see that the Northland food pantry is installed
and operational.
Since there is no freezer, we also have an ice maker installed and running in the kitchen, and a chest freezer
in the laundry area.

The Dynasty stove is also installed.
We are really going to enjoy this appliance!
Continuing the saga of the terrible service we are receiving from the Factory Builders Supply store (in
Houston, TX), it is not fully functional.
Apparently, they do not know much about stoves, because not only did they originally deliver a natural gas
model (even though we stressed to them on several occasions that we are in the country and are using propane),
but they decided to turn over the small problem it has for the manufacturer to fix.
As I indicated might happen earlier, I have decided, on the other hand, to turn the problem over to American
Express by contesting the charge until it is fully functional.

All the goodies in the master shower are now working!
This Kohler system with ten (count them!) outlets is called a "shower spa".
We have tried it a couple of times to our great delight!
(Pictures have been withheld for esthetic reasons.)

In the office, a Formica surface has been applied to the desk.
It is so nice in there that I can hardly wait to get to work!
(What am I saying?!? I can wait! I can wait!)
