Home page for the ProMash software The Double Luck Brewery is pleased to share the recipes for our favorite beers! Unless otherwise noted, each recipe produces 10 gallons of finished beer. The recipes were originally formulated by hand and later modified with the help of ProMash - brewing software for the discriminating brewer. Click on this icon when you see it on a recipe page to download the ProMash recipe file.

Since all breweries have their own unique signature, it is unlikely that your results will be identical to mine. Hopefully, you can at least use these recipes as a starting point from which you can fine tune your own version of the beers. We would love to hear about any successes (and failures) you have brewing from these recipes!

While most of the recipes utilize all grain brewing techniques, they can be converted readily to malt extract and specialty grains that do not require mashing. The results will be comparable (but not identical) to the all grain recipe. To convert an all grain recipe to use malt extract, replace each 5 pounds of pale (or Pilsner) malt with either 4 pounds of light liquid malt extract, or 3 pounds of light dry malt extract. Leave specialty grain quantities unchanged, steeping them extract their flavors (sometimes called a mini-mash) rather than performing a full mash. Hop varieties and amounts are not affected by this conversion. Your hops might have different alpha acid ratings. Especially for bittering hops, you may need to adjust the quantity used and/or the boil time in order to achieve a similar hop bitterness profile (IBUs). Unless otherwise stated, the recipes call for whole hops; you may substitute hop pucks without any adjustments. If you must substitute pellets, however, you will need to reduce the quantity and/or boil time slightly to account for the approximately 10% higher utilization you get from hop pellets.
